Chaplaincy in Education
An influential Mountain that is interrelated with all other mountains with one of the most powerful tools for personal as well as societal growth and development, is the Mountain of Education. Through education, book-based learning as well as practical experiences, knowledge and skills are developed and applied to everyday life. Education provides knowledge and understanding which is crucial to breaking cycles of poverty, reduction in crime in order to build stronger and more prosperous communities.
Every chaplain serving in this sphere completes 400 hours of training, with added preparation for the realities of schools and colleges.
How our chaplains serve
Chaplains can assist in providing learning opportunities by working with schools and other organizations to identify community needs and find ways to meet them. This may include communicating with stakeholders, planning curricula, and coordinating activities such as workshops, events and promoting learning while keeping the public informed. The Chaplain can render mental support, spiritual guidance, assisting persons in disaster, being first responders and coexisting with persons of different religions.
