Mountain of Healthcare
Assessing healthcare needs and caring for people in body and spirit.

Chaplaincy in Healthcare
Over the last few decades, the Mountain of Healthcare has seen an epidemiological shift from infectious diseases, to Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases (CNCDs) and obesity. Chronic non-communicable diseases associated with obesity include, high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, cancer, osteoarthritis, and sleep apnea. Today, many people are living with, or at risk for CNCDs, which are largely preventable.
Every chaplain serving in this sphere completes 400 hours of training, with added preparation for the realities of healthcare.
How our chaplains serve
The Healthcare Chaplain is trained to assess healthcare needs, develop programs, and perform targeted education interventions for community groups. Additionally, the Chaplain will render spiritual guidance; perform rites and services; assist persons in disaster; and coexist with persons of different religions.
